What you'll be doing

The Financial Solutions Group (FSG) within Global Markets partners closely with institutional clients and internal teams to deliver thoughtful, market-driven foreign exchange and risk management solutions. As an Associate, Global Markets, you will support the institutional FX sales and trading business by working closely with sales, marketers, and traders to deliver timely execution, market insight, and client solutions aligned with client objectives and business priorities.

In this role, you will help build and strengthen relationships with institutional clients through proactive outreach, follow-up conversations, meetings, presentations, and value-added trade ideas. You will contribute to the delivery of FX products and solutions, supporting client activity across spot, forwards, swaps, and other hedging or derivative strategies, while developing a strong understanding of market dynamics, trade economics, and client needs. You will collaborate with partners across CIBC, including Investment and Corporate Banking, Credit, Treasury, Tax, Legal, and Client Onboarding, to support seamless transaction delivery and a high-quality client experience. You will also work closely with FX trading desks across jurisdictions to communicate client flow, monitor market themes, support trade execution, and build insight into pricing, liquidity, risk, and portfolio considerations affecting institutional clients.

In addition, you will stay closely attuned to intraday market activity and macroeconomic developments, provide clients with timely product and market information, and contribute to the smooth functioning of the business through strong knowledge of cash and derivative operations, settlement, and process improvement.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. To successfully perform the work, you'll be on-site full-time.
